Cappadocia is an informally defined region of natural, and man-made wonders, in central Turkey. Tens of thousand of years ago, a volcano spewed forth molten rock that covere the land as far as one could see in every direction. Subsequent millenniums of erosion carved the strange landscape for which the region has bocome world famous. Inverted cones, some of which balance seemingly imposible caps of massive rock on their point, spike the pastel colored valleys and canyons.
